10/13/2019 Lumix Dmc-g7 Quick Start Guide
Offering true recording versatility, the black Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 is a true hybrid mirrorless camera that blends 4K UHD video with advanced still capture and burst shooting capabilities. Revolving around a 16 MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor and Venus Engine 9 image processor, the G7 features notable low-light sensitivity to ISO 25600, continuous shooting to 8 fps with single-shot AF, as well as a trio of 30 fps shooting rates based on the 4K UHD video recording. Complementing the fast burst shooting modes is an equally adept DFD autofocus system, which works to quicken focusing speeds and emphasize accurate subject tracking for consistently sharp imagery in fast-paced and trying working conditions. Rounding out the feature-set of the G7 is a contemporary body design accentuated by physical exposure control dials, six customizable function buttons, both a high-resolution EVF and 3.0' tilting touchscreen LCD, and built-in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing and remote camera control. Bridging the gap between stills and video, the Lumix DMC-G7 pairs these two high-resolution mediums with refined focusing and shooting controls for the utmost in shooting versatility.

From T3i to G7, this is a must grab! The transition from DSLR to this MFT was pretty easy. I'm using this for video purposes and it only took me a few youtube videos to get the hang of those features. The 4k,built in wifi and custom button remapping are a huge plus in my book. With the kit lens this camera is great but has much more potential to be even better with new glass and adapters.
The LUMIX Advantage. LUMIX G cameras offer an ‘AF-ON’ option in the menu (as do some top-end DSLRs) that turns the lock button into a quick AF button. Instead of half-pressing the shutter button to acquire focus, the lock button is assigned to operate the same function. 7xuq wkh fdphud rq dqg vhw wkh forfn 3 )rupdw wkh fdug lqlwldolvdwlrq 3 6hw wkh prgh gldo wr ¦@ 3 7kh vhwwlqjv ri wkh pdlq ixqfwlrqv duh dgmxvwhg dxwrpdwlfdoo 3uhvv wkh vkxwwhu exwwrq kdoizd.
AND you can use your phone as a monitor/controller via wifi and there's an electronic view finder to see what you're capturing on sunny days when it's hard to see the monitor!(Picture attached of live view finder) The swivel screen is touch screen and the camera is very light and small enough to be held in one hand easily. For a budget 4k camera, I highly recommend it! It's all I hoped it would beThis camera has it all.I especially love the wireless capability.
It really shines in video mode which is where I normally use it. Features you may like include: timed photos, video monitoring of your home, time-lapse photography and automatic switch mode between monitor and viewfinder based on your eye's position. Although the included 14-42 lens is great, I upgraded this week to a Panasonic Lumix 14-140 with on board image stabilization. This camera is now complete based on the way I want to use it.YouTube how-to videos. I have the close up capabilities and stabilization in case I go hand-held.
You'll love the quick auto-focus response. Worth The MoneyAmazing camera all in all. I was skeptical about the MFT platform at first. But, after much research and time with the camera ive come to love it.Glass for this platform is fairly cheap as well making it a choice for some budget oriented hobbyist that still want amazing quality. The camera has great features such as r4k photo mode, 5 axis-stabilization and silent shooting with increased ISO ranges for those extremely dark shots (generally you just use lighting instead of using those ranges due to noise being present). So if you are looking to invest in this camera as a beginner i would highly recommend it.
I came from shooting on a Sony A35 and old minolta glass, which only shares the EVF feature with the G7. Take the first step towards an adventure and buy the G7!
